WHO AND WHAT

WHO IS THIS FOR?

Mountain biking requires a combination of power and endurance. This program is for men who are 40+ and who love being out on the mountains, cranking the gears. If you consider yourself a recreational trail or XC mountain biker but want to build muscle and stay flexible, you’re at the right place. The MCC training seasons are programs for those with at least one year of weightlifting experience.

Seasons Icons

WHAT ARE SEASONS?

Each training season lasts one month. Intense but doable. Each season is a hybrid program, combining strengthening, cycling, and mobility training. The seasons are physical therapy-based, addressing the common weaknesses and immobility that age tends to bring. Every season has a different theme and characteristic, so training doesn’t get boring.

Train Hard and Save Money

After you complete a season, you’ll be awarded points. Points are like virtual money. The points you earn can be used to buy future seasons. If you complete two seasons and earn the points, you’ll get the third season for free. Why not get rewarded for training? The more consistent you are at training, the cheaper your training becomes.

HOW ARE THE SEASONS STRUCTURED?

Each program was systematically and scientifically designed by MCC’s mad scientist, Dr. Steve Berkey. Most weeks include three to four holistic workout sessions about one hour long and blend with mountain rides. You’ll be working out and biking five to seven days each week. Each workout includes step-by-step videos of the exercises. You also get videos with tips and physical therapy techniques to aid with improving mobility. Each program has a systematic and science-based approach to help you live a healthy life.

Next Season: Time For Your Arms to Roar

Burning Circuits is a faster-paced season with little rest. If you have been part of the MCC Club, you’ve built your foundational strength and power during the previous seasons. Don’t worry if you missed the other MCC seasons. You can always jump into this program without worries.

Now it’s time to build that muscular endurance to crank out those long, drawn-out climbs. Embrace the burn because it’s your friend.

FAQs

What exactly do I get when I purchase a season from MCC?

You get a month-long strengthening and mobility program that blends with mountain biking. Each season includes step-by-step videos. After you sign up, you get instant access to the season through the MCC responsive online site. Each month, a new season is released to give you year-long training.

Do I get lifetime access to the season?

Yes, as long as MCC is in business. If you complete all of the seasons, you’ll have access to a yearly program that you can repeat year after year.

Will this plan prepare me for a bike race?

No. The MCC seasons help you gain lean muscle while balancing cardio and strength training. Throughout the year, strengthening and biking sessions are periodized or organized to peak your performance on the bike while building power and strength. As your intensity increases on the bike, so does the strength training, but at a slightly different time so you don’t burn out. You can endure a punishing two-hour ride if you train throughout the year using the MCC programs in April and September.

Do the MCC seasons include structured bike plans that work with a trainer?

Yes. We understand that sometimes you must train inside due to time or inclement weather. If you plan on training inside, you have many options. The MCC seasons use Garmin trainer files to control a compatible trainer. To train on a trainer, you could use any of the following setups:

  • Option 1: Compatible trainer, Garmin Edge device, Garmin watch that broadcasts heart rate
  • Option 2: Compatible trainer, Garmin Edge device, heart rate band compatible with the Garmin Edge
  • Option 3: Compatible trainer, Garmin watch that connects and controls the trainer, heart rate band compatible with the Garmin watch

I’m new to strength training. Is this program for me?

No. This program is designed for someone who’s familiar with the gym and has been strength training for about one year.

What makes this program different from others?

This program is physical therapy-based. Think pre-hab versus spending thousands of dollars to come back from an injury.

Why were the MCC strength training programs created?

The MCC programs were designed as a tool to help men train realistically. The plans started after being asked what I do for training in the physical therapy clinic. Well, here it is just for you.

This program is not to turn you into the next Thor but to get you close while remaining healthy. Besides, social media and movies are not real, or are they?

Can I get a refund?

Yes. We’ll refund your payment if you’re unhappy with the season within seven days of ordering it.
